It Officially Works!

I’ve been Swaggin’ pretty steadily since Jan. 11.  I’ve actually been giving it about as much (maybe even more) time as I was giving the game I was playing before I found it (City of Wonder).  Which is pretty much all of the time I’m not doing something away from my recliner, with the exception of things like financial business and my scripture reading and studies.

I’ve been quite enthusiastic and hopeful about it.  On the facebook page dedicated solely to members of Swag Bucks the number of “likes” has risen to over 908,000!  Last week they celebrated reaching 900,000 and it’s grown another 8,000 since then.  All of this time I’ve been very hopeful that it’s “for real”.  I’ve “earned” or at least cashed in enough swag bucks for four $5 Amazon.com gift cards and I have enough swag bucks in my account for a couple of more but thought I’d hold off and work on a bigger goal.  Cashing in and receiving however are two very different things, so I’ve been waiting… I think my friends have been waiting too.

Yesterday it happened!  I received my very first of the four Amazon.com $5 gift cards!!!  Now I can tell everyone I know that it OFFICIALLY WORKS.   It’s NOT a scam.  Of course I immediately moved the gift card (they are egift cards) into my Amazon account, and it immediately credited!

I was so excited that I posted this on facebook right away.  I think this is what a few people had been waiting for because it wasn’t long after and 2 of my friends hit my referral link and signed up to try it too!  This is cool because for every search they earn swag bucks for I will earn matching swag bucks for up to 1,000 swag bucks each!   Needless to say, I’m as pleased as punch.

I’m not sure what I’ll do with the credit building in my Amazon.com account for now but it’s a good feeling to know I have money nobody else has access to but me and I can ‘blow it’ on whatever I want… I have a lot of frivolous dreams, but my practical self will probably over-ride them and it will go for something ‘needed’ for the family/household rather than just ‘me’.  Either way, it’s free money to do nothing but piddle on the computer which is all I do anyway.

Swaggin' My Tail

I’m a few days into ‘swaggin’ now.  I’ve earned my first Amazon.com gift card and I’m working on my second one.  It does take a little time to earn one if that’s your sole purpose of being on the computer… but I’m on the computer all of the time anyway so I’m not having ANY problems rackin’ up swag bucks.  I’ve altered my habits just a little bit to accommodate the ‘goal’ and participate in it but I like it.  I like taking polls, doing ‘tasks’ (things that make me think) and getting randomly surprised with swag bucks for doing web searches anyway.  I am still in the learning mode, but I’m figuring some of it out.  I’d love to have a few referrals but don’t know very many people (I’m not a social butterfly).   It took about 3 days to get my 1st Amazon card.  There are many more things to choose from but there’s something at Amazon I’ve got my eye on and these nifty little freebies will make a good dent in it, maybe even get it for me for just swaggin’ my tail.

Swaggin'

A friend of mine and I were chatting on facebook last night and she told me about “Swagbucks” and how she was doing a few little things on line like completing a survey or two, doing online searches (like you normally do), and answering a poll question and over time was building up these “swagbucks” in an account that could be redeemed for things in a “Swagstore” or for things like Amazon.com gift cards.  Amazon.com gift cards?  My ears perked up!  Tell me more!!!  During our chat while it said at the bottom that she was typing I was flipping over to a search page and looking the Swagbucks thing up to see if it was ‘too good to be true’… after all, if it sounds like it is, it usually is.  I was quite surprised to see that it was on the up and up.  When my friend and I were finished chatting I did what I never thought I’d do… I signed up for it.  I found myself up until 1:00am Swaggin’.  I have absolutely NO clue as to what I’m doing and I’m totally lost.  Even with tutorials I’m not grasping it.  There is a facebook page which is filled with LOTS of Swaggers but I’m not getting much from their posts.  It seems they’ve been ‘swagging’ a while now and are speaking in tounges.  My biggest concern is having my mailbox inundated with JUNK, as Swagbucks makes their money and shares it with its Swaggers through advertising, and feedback on products from manufacturers and service/goods providers…

Time will tell.  In the mean time I’ll try to swag without falling on my swagger.
